About No Mercy
No Mercy is a premium No Mercy MTG proxy originally printed in Magic: The Gathering’s Urza’s Legacy set. This black enchantment punishes creatures that damage you by destroying them afterward, making it a powerful deterrent for Commander, control, pillow-fort, and multiplayer decks.

What No Mercy Does
Whenever a creature deals damage to you, No Mercy destroys that creature. It does not prevent the damage, but it makes attacking you considerably less attractive when an opponent knows their creature probably will not survive the experience.
That makes No Mercy particularly useful in multiplayer games. It can encourage opponents to send their creatures somewhere else while you develop your board, preserve your removal spells, or work toward a slower win condition.
Best Uses
- Commander: Discourages opponents from spending combat resources attacking you.
- Control decks: Provides a persistent punishment effect while you hold other interaction for more important threats.
- Pillow-fort strategies: Adds another reason for opponents to choose a different target at the combat table.
Recommended Interactions
- Ghostly Prison effects: Combining attack taxes with No Mercy makes attacking you both expensive and dangerous.
- Revenge of Ravens: Adds life-loss pressure to the same defensive game plan.
- Board wipes: No Mercy can discourage attacks while you wait for the right moment to reset the battlefield.
Strengths and Considerations
No Mercy’s main strength is deterrence. Opponents can still attack you, but they may have to sacrifice important creatures to do it. The main limitation is that No Mercy does not actually prevent damage, and removing the enchantment restores normal combat immediately.
