Fetch Land Set Details

Fetch lands are a type of land that allows you to search your library for another land card and put it into play. While there have been a few cycles of fetch lands in Magic’s history, these are the best ones and useful in any deck.

Fetch lands are powerful in Magic: The Gathering because they allow players to search their library for a specific land card, allowing them to fix their mana base and play multiple colors more easily.

Fetch lands, such as Polluted Delta, Blood Crypt, and Scalding Tarn are particularly powerful because they can fetch any basic land card, which means that they can be used to find any color of mana. This allows players to play multiple colors in their decks without having to worry about color screw, which occurs when a player does not have access to the color of mana they need.

Another advantage of fetch lands is that they allow players to thin out their deck by putting a land card on the graveyard. This is particularly useful in decks that rely on graveyard interactions or want to fuel graveyard-based strategies.

Additionally, Fetch lands are valuable in the Legacy and Vintage formats, which allow players to use cards from all Magic’s history, as they are one of the few ways to search for specific basic lands, which are often key to the format’s strategies.

In summary, fetch lands are powerful in Magic: The Gathering because they provide flexibility and consistency in the mana base, allow for easy color fixing, and provide graveyard-based interactions. Make sure you check out our Dual Lands Set to improve your mana base even more!

Fetch Lands – MTG Proxy Holo Stamp

Fetch Lands are a series of lands in Magic: The Gathering that can be sacrificed to search the library for a land with a specific basic land type, facilitating efficient mana fixing and deck thinning. They are particularly valuable in multicolored decks, allowing players to access the necessary colors of mana promptly. The most renowned fetch lands are the ten "true fetch lands," divided into allied and enemy color pairs.

List of True Fetch Lands:

  • Allied Color Fetch Lands:
    • Flooded Strand
    • Polluted Delta
    • Bloodstained Mire
    • Wooded Foothills
    • Windswept Heath
  • Enemy Color Fetch Lands:
    • Marsh Flats
    • Scalding Tarn
    • Verdant Catacombs
    • Arid Mesa
    • Misty Rainforest

Tip:

Incorporating fetch lands into your deck enhances mana consistency and enables access to multiple colors efficiently. They synergize exceptionally well with cards that have the Landfall ability, triggering additional effects when a land enters the battlefield under your control. Additionally, fetch lands can be used strategically to shuffle your library, which is beneficial after scrying or when certain cards are placed on the bottom of your library.

Cards that Synergize with Fetch Lands:

Lotus Cobra

A creature that generates one mana of any color whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control. Fetch lands can trigger this ability twice in a single turn, providing significant mana acceleration.

Tireless Tracker

A creature that creates Clue tokens whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control. Fetch lands can produce multiple Clue tokens, enhancing your card draw capabilities.

Crucible of Worlds

An artifact that allows you to play land cards from your graveyard. This enables the reuse of fetch lands, providing continuous mana fixing and Landfall triggers.

Courser of Kruphix

A creature that lets you play with the top card of your library revealed and allows you to play lands from the top of your library. Fetch lands can help manipulate the top of your library and gain life when lands enter the battlefield.
