Dark Depths is a mythic rare legendary snow land from Magic: The Gathering‘s Ultimate Masters set. It has the following abilities:
- Dark Depths enters the battlefield with ten ice counters on it.
{3}:Remove an ice counter from Dark Depths.- When Dark Depths has no ice counters on it, sacrifice it. If you do, create Marit Lage, a legendary 20/20 black Avatar creature token with flying and indestructible.
Dark Depths is a win condition in land-based combo decks, creating the powerful Marit Lage token. It synergizes with cards that remove counters or copy lands to cheat the process.
Tip:
Pair Dark Depths with cards that can copy it or remove counters quickly, such as Thespian’s Stage or Vampire Hexmage. This allows you to bypass the ice counters and summon Marit Lage ahead of schedule.
