Sword of Forge and Frontier turns combat damage into access to more cards and an extra land play. Its carrier gets +2/+2 and protection from red and green. Connecting with a player exiles the top two cards of your library, permits playing them that turn, and allows an additional land play for the turn.
The extra land permission makes exiled lands particularly useful, but it can also be used for a land from your hand. It is an increase to your land-play allowance, not an instruction to put a land directly onto the battlefield. You still follow normal timing and need the relevant cards available to play.
Because the exiled cards are available only that turn, an early combat usually gives more opportunity to use them. Keep mana available for a second main phase instead of spending everything before attacking. Cheap spells improve the chance you can use both cards, while land-heavy or landfall decks appreciate the added land play. Multiple successful triggers can provide additional allowances and more cards to consider.
Cloud, Midgar Mercenary can repeat the attached Sword's trigger, and double strike can create another combat-damage opportunity. Protection helps against red and green blockers or targeted interaction of those colors, but it does not stop every removal spell. Give the Sword a dependable carrier and a deck with enough playable follow-ups. The goal is to convert combat into actual resources before the temporary permission expires, not merely to exile more cards.
