One successful attack can turn Bloodforged Battle-Axe into an expanding collection of Equipment. The equipped creature gets +2/+0, and each combat hit on a player creates another Battle-Axe token. Attach the new copies and later hits can create several more, letting a small initial investment grow into a large amount of power.
Double strike accelerates the process because a creature can deal combat damage to a player in both combat damage steps. Each attached Axe triggers on each successful hit. The new copies do not automatically attach, however, so you need additional mana or an effect that moves Equipment. Puresteel Paladin and Sigarda's Aid help with different parts of that problem, while Cloud, Midgar Mercenary can increase the number of triggers from an attached Axe.
Evasive creatures make better carriers than attackers that are easily blocked. Flying, menace, or an unblockable ability can get the first copy engine started. Once several Axes exist, an artifact-focused deck can also benefit from their presence even when it cannot equip all of them immediately. The main constraint is the two-mana equip cost on every copy. Producing ten Equipment tokens is exciting, but attaching them can consume several turns without support. Keep the deck's practical attack plan in mind: a reliable carrier and a way to manage equip costs often contribute more than another expensive Equipment. The Axe supplies growth on its own once combat damage starts getting through.
