Liliana, Dreadhorde General gives black decks a draw engine attached to a planeswalker that also creates creatures and pressures opposing boards. Whenever a creature you control dies, you draw a card, including when that creature is a token. Her plus ability supplies a Zombie, while her minus-four ability makes every player sacrifice two creatures, connecting the removal and draw plans in one card.
Sacrifice strategies can make immediate use of the passive ability. Viscera Seer or Ashnod's Altar converts expendable creatures into another resource while Liliana replaces those creatures with cards. Token producers such as Ophiomancer keep supplying material, allowing a deck to build a larger hand without repeatedly spending new creature cards.
Her sacrifice ability is especially useful against opponents relying on a small number of protected creatures. It does not target those creatures and can remove indestructible threats, although opponents choose what to sacrifice. You also sacrifice creatures, so establish expendable bodies first when possible. If your creatures die, the draw ability can help turn the symmetrical instruction into a better exchange for you.
At six mana, Liliana should arrive with a role beyond hoping to reach her ultimate. Create a blocker when you need to defend her, or use the sacrifice ability when it meaningfully changes the board. Her strongest games come from repeatedly converting creatures you were already prepared to lose into cards that keep your sacrifice engine operating.
