Flawless Maneuver lets white Commander decks protect their creatures from destruction and lethal damage while keeping mana available for other plays. It normally costs three mana, but controlling a commander allows you to cast it without paying that mana cost.
Creature-heavy decks and token strategies gain the most when several important bodies are at risk. The spell can preserve your board through Blasphemous Act or another destruction-based sweeper. You can also cast your own sweeper and respond with Maneuver, leaving your indestructible creatures in place while opposing creatures are cleared away.
Avenger of Zendikar illustrates the kind of investment worth protecting: saving both the Avenger and a developed group of Plants can preserve an entire game plan. A commander that continues producing tokens or improving the board makes the free casting condition especially convenient. Heroic Intervention offers related protection in green, with hexproof and coverage for noncreature permanents as additional benefits.
Maneuver protects creatures you control when it resolves, not every permanent and not creatures that enter afterward. Indestructible does not prevent exile, sacrifice, or toughness being reduced to zero, so Farewell and Toxic Deluge require different answers. Once you legally cast Maneuver for no mana, removing your commander does not retroactively change its cost. Keep some interaction that works before your commander arrives, and use Maneuver when saving the creature board will leave you with a position worth defending on the next turn.
