Ohran Frostfang makes attacking with a creature board more rewarding. Your attacking creatures have deathtouch, and each creature you control that deals combat damage to a player draws you a card. Opponents must weigh losing blockers to small attackers against allowing those attackers to refill your hand.
Token decks can spread attacks across several players and force more blocking decisions. Even a modest token becomes a dangerous trade while attacking with deathtouch. Evasive creatures are useful as well, because an unblocked flyer can produce a card without needing a large power value or a separate combat-damage ability.
Toski, Bearer of Secrets provides another draw trigger for the same successful hits, making the two creatures complementary in a combat-focused deck. Shadowspear can add trample to a larger attacker. Trample and deathtouch work well together because a small amount of assigned damage can be lethal to a blocker, leaving more damage available to reach the defending player.
Frostfang grants deathtouch only to attacking creatures, so your blockers do not automatically gain it. The draw ability also requires combat damage to a player, not damage to a planeswalker or a creature. At five mana, the Snake is most effective when you already have a board ready to attack, rather than when you need to rebuild from nothing. Use it to turn an established group of creatures into both a difficult combat problem and a continuing source of cards.
