What Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger Does

Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger forces each opponent to discard a card when it enters the battlefield or attacks. If an opponent discards a nonland card, that is the discard. If that opponent cannot or will not discard a nonland card, Kroxa makes them lose 3 life.

When Kroxa enters without escaping, you sacrifice it. Later, you can cast it from your graveyard for its escape cost by paying BBRR and exiling five other cards from your graveyard. That turns Kroxa into a recurring threat, provided your deck can fill the graveyard without looking surprised that escape has a cover charge.

Best Uses for Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger MTG Proxy

  • Rakdos discard decks: Kroxa pressures hands while also punishing opponents who run out of useful cards to discard.
  • Graveyard midrange decks: Escape gives Kroxa long-game value from the graveyard.
  • Cube testing: Kroxa works well in cubes that support discard, self-mill, and black-red attrition strategies.

Recommended Interactions

Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger works well with self-mill, discard payoffs, graveyard filling, and cards that reward opponents discarding. It is worth testing if your deck can reliably stock the graveyard for escape.

  • Faithless Looting: Filters cards while helping put Kroxa and escape fuel into the graveyard.
  • Stitcher’s Supplier: Fills the graveyard quickly, giving Kroxa more material for escape.
  • Waste Not: Rewards opponent discard with cards, mana, or Zombies depending on what gets discarded.

Strengths and Considerations

The main strength of Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger is repeatable pressure. It attacks the hand early, then can return later as a 6/6 threat that keeps triggering discard.

The main consideration is graveyard setup. Kroxa needs enough cards in the graveyard and the right mana to escape. Testing Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger MTG proxy can help you decide whether your Commander deck, cube, or Rakdos midrange list supports the card well enough.
