Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh gives an Equipment deck a commander it can deploy for zero mana the first time. First strike, menace, and trample provide useful combat abilities, but its printed zero power means it needs help before it becomes a meaningful attacker. Equipment, counters, and other power boosts supply that missing piece.
Partner lets another eligible commander provide colors and support. Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist is a direct Equipment partner because moving attachments without ordinary equip payments helps turn Rograkh into a threat. Other partners can supply cards or a different strategic angle, depending on whether the deck wants commander damage, sacrifice material, or a low-cost legendary creature.
Zero mana does not mean free forever from the command zone. Commander tax increases the cost of later casts as usual. That matters if the deck repeatedly sacrifices or exposes Rograkh, even though the first deployment is effortless. Its combat keywords also do not protect it from removal, so a heavily equipped Rograkh may still need protection. The small initial cost leaves more mana available for support cards during early turns. That is the main practical advantage: you can establish the carrier and spend resources on making it useful immediately. Build enough reliable power increases and card flow to sustain the plan. A handful of strong attachments can make those printed combat abilities work together, but the commander by itself is not a damage engine.
