Heroic Intervention helps green decks protect a battlefield they have spent several turns building. For two mana, your permanents gain hexproof and indestructible until the turn ends, covering creatures, artifacts, enchantments, and lands that are under your control when the spell resolves.
That broad coverage makes it useful in creature-heavy Commander decks, token strategies, and builds relying on several supporting permanents. Hexproof stops opponents from targeting those permanents, while indestructible protects them from destruction and lethal damage. The two abilities handle different threats, so understanding which one matters helps you choose the right moment to cast it.
Blasphemous Act provides an offensive pairing in a red-green deck. Cast the sweeper and respond with Heroic Intervention, allowing your indestructible creatures to survive the damage while opposing creatures are cleared away. The same approach can preserve your creatures through Wrath of God in a deck with white. Token engines such as Chatterfang, Squirrel General particularly appreciate keeping both their creatures and the permanents that produce them.
Some sweepers require a different answer. Farewell exiles rather than destroys, and Toxic Deluge can reduce toughness to zero despite indestructible. Intervention also does not prevent sacrifice effects. Teferi’s Protection covers a broader range of board threats in decks that can play white, while Intervention offers a cheaper way to handle destruction and targeting. Leave the two mana available when losing your board would set you far behind, and avoid assuming the spell protects against every kind of removal.
