Exalted Sunborn offers a token doubler in two time frames. Cast it for five mana and you get a lasting flying, lifelink creature that doubles tokens created under your control. Cast it for its two-mana warp cost and you get the same doubling effect for the current turn, followed by exile at the next end step and permission to cast it from exile on a later turn.
That temporary mode rewards planning a productive token turn in advance. Warping the Angel before a large Secure the Wastes can create twice the army while reserving more mana for X. A turn with several Treasure or Clue effects can also benefit, because the replacement effect is not limited to creature tokens.
The later cast gives the card another job after the initial burst. You still need to pay its normal cost or another applicable cost, and ordinary timing restrictions apply. Warp does not mean the Angel automatically returns for free on your next turn. It creates a future casting option if the card was exiled through the warp effect.
Flying and lifelink help the permanent version support a race, while token-focused cards such as Ocelot Pride can reward the wider board. If a token maker produces several kinds of tokens, the Sunborn increases each relevant creation rather than changing their types or abilities.
Choose the mode based on the expected return that turn. A cheap temporary doubler can be excellent when it immediately produces enough extra material, while casting the Angel normally makes more sense when repeated token production is already established. Protecting the board you create may be more valuable than spending every remaining mana on additional tokens, particularly if the payoff depends on untapping with an army.
