Displacer Kitten turns each noncreature spell you cast into a chance to blink one of your nonland permanents. The chosen permanent is exiled and returned under its owner’s control, letting a blue value or combo deck reuse entry abilities or return a tapped permanent untapped. Cheap spells can therefore support both the spell sequence and the board already in play.
Blinking Eternal Witness can recover a card, while blinking a mana rock can make another activation available. Because the Kitten trigger goes on the stack above the spell that caused it, the returned permanent can contribute before that spell resolves. A creature-heavy target package can provide useful entry abilities while inexpensive artifacts and instants supply the noncreature casts.
Teferi, Time Raveler and Mox Amber create a more involved engine. Amber can tap for blue while Teferi is present, and Teferi’s minus ability can return Amber to hand and draw a card. Recasting the zero-mana Amber triggers Kitten to blink Teferi, restoring his loyalty and allowing another activation. Repeating the sequence can generate mana and draws, subject to the cards left in your library and successful resolution.
The ability targets, so shroud or other targeting restrictions can interfere with your intended permanent. A token exiled this way will not return, and a permanent you borrowed returns under its owner’s control. Kitten also needs suitable spells and worthwhile targets to do anything. Build around those resources rather than treating every blink as useful, and protect the engine when committing to a repeated sequence.
