Disenchant gives white decks a straightforward instant-speed answer to an artifact or enchantment. Two mana covers a wide range of engines, Equipment, mana rocks, and defensive pieces, making it easy to keep available while developing your own board. Its value comes from answering the right permanent at the right time rather than providing additional cards or a body.
Removing a draw engine such as Rhystic Study before it generates several cards can prevent a large advantage. Destroying Equipment after an opponent spends mana to equip it can also create a favorable tempo exchange. Against a combo built around an artifact or enchantment, Disenchant can break the setup if used before the relevant effect has already become independent on the stack.
The spell destroys rather than exiles, so indestructible permanents survive and graveyard recursion can recover the removed card later. It also does not counter an activated or triggered ability merely by destroying its source. Understanding which part of an opposing sequence actually needs to be interrupted helps avoid spending removal after the decisive effect is already underway.
Keep it alongside answers to creatures and other permanent types so the deck's interaction remains balanced. A narrow target category can still be highly useful when that category contains the engines your table relies on. Disenchant is a dependable inclusion when you want an affordable, uncomplicated answer that can be held until an opponent reveals what their artifact or enchantment is about to accomplish.
