Bloodstained Mire fixes colors by searching for a Swamp or Mountain after you pay one life and sacrifice it. Either land type qualifies, so the search can find basics, dual lands, or a suitable three-color land. That flexibility supports black-red decks as well as broader mana bases built around typed nonbasics.
Blood Crypt and Badlands are direct black-red targets. Savai Triome can add white for a Mardu deck, while a Grixis deck can find Watery Grave through its Swamp type. The land you choose follows its own entry rules. Fetching Blood Crypt untapped costs three life in total when you include Mire’s activation and the shock land’s two-life payment.
Sacrificing Mire also places a land in the graveyard, creating material for Life from the Loam or Crucible of Worlds. A lands deck can recover or replay it to repeat its fixing and landfall triggers. Lotus Cobra rewards both Mire entering and the searched-for land entering, helping turn the sequence into mana when the Cobra is already on the battlefield.
Plan your searches around the next few turns instead of automatically finding the most flexible target. A basic can preserve life, and a tapped Triome can be a good choice before your next untap. Keep sufficient targets in the library for repeated use. Mire does not increase your land count by itself, but its choice of targets and graveyard interactions can make a carefully built mana base much more consistent.
