The Fire Crystal supports red creature decks by reducing generic costs on red spells and giving all your creatures haste. It helps follow-up threats arrive sooner and act immediately, which is especially valuable when those creatures have powerful attack triggers or tap abilities. The artifact also includes a late-game copy ability, giving established boards a way to turn excess mana into another creature for the turn.
Dragons such as Ancient Copper Dragon benefit directly from haste because they can threaten combat-damage triggers immediately. Krenko, Mob Boss can use its tap ability without waiting a full turn, making the haste effect useful even when combat is not the main plan. The spell reduction helps red creatures with generic mana in their costs, but it cannot remove required red symbols.
For six mana and a tap, the Crystal creates a token copy of a creature you control and schedules that token for sacrifice at the next end step. Copying Siege-Gang Commander supplies additional Goblins through its entry ability, and those separate Goblins are not the token the Crystal instructs you to sacrifice. Copying a legendary creature still requires attention to the legend rule.
Treat the activated ability as an additional outlet rather than the only reason to include the card. Four mana is a meaningful setup cost, so the best decks use haste and cost reduction regularly. Plan to follow the Crystal with creatures that can immediately exploit those passive abilities.
