Bloodghast gives black sacrifice and graveyard decks a creature that returns whenever a land enters under your control. It cannot block, but its landfall ability can repeatedly turn an ordinary land drop into another body for attacking, sacrificing, or carrying Equipment. When an opponent has ten or less life, haste lets it join combat immediately after returning.
Skullclamp turns the one-toughness Vampire into cards, while Viscera Seer and Ashnod's Altar provide sacrifice outlets with different rewards. Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat add life drain whenever the recurring creature dies. These partners make Bloodghast valuable even when attacking is difficult or the haste condition is not active.
Fetch lands provide especially flexible timing. A fetch entering can return Bloodghast, then sacrificing it and finding another land can provide another landfall trigger after Bloodghast has been sacrificed again. The sequence requires a sacrifice outlet and an available searchable land, but it can produce multiple uses from one land card.
The recursion does not cast Bloodghast, so effects that trigger from casting creature spells do not receive additional triggers when it returns. Graveyard hate can also remove it before the landfall ability resolves. Keep a supply of lands or land-entry effects available when the engine matters, and avoid treating an unblockable role as part of its package; Bloodghast is recursive, but ordinary creatures can still block it.
