Urza’s Saga gives artifact decks a land that develops into creatures and a small-artifact search. It occupies a land play, gains a colorless-mana ability from its first chapter, and later gains an activated ability that creates a Construct token whose size depends on your artifact count.
The second chapter’s Construct ability remains available while Saga stays on the battlefield. You can often make one Construct after that chapter and another while the third chapter trigger is waiting to resolve, provided you have the mana and an untapped Saga. The extra artifacts you control, including the Constructs themselves, help determine their power and toughness.
Its final search finds an artifact with the literal mana cost zero or one generic mana. Sol Ring, Skullclamp, Shadowspear, and Expedition Map are useful examples that serve different roles. It does not simply find every artifact with mana value zero or one: Walking Ballista has an X-based mana cost and does not qualify. Choose a small toolbox that supports your deck rather than adding targets only because Saga can find them.
Saga is sacrificed after its final chapter resolves, so account for losing that land from your mana base. It is also an enchantment as well as a land, exposing it to additional removal. Crucible of Worlds can let you play it again from the graveyard on a later turn. Its best home can use the temporary mana, sizable Constructs, and precise artifact search as parts of one coherent plan.
