Krark-Clan Ironworks converts any artifact you can sacrifice into two colorless mana. Tokens, tapped artifacts, and artifacts that have already delivered their entry value can all become fuel. That gives artifact decks a way to turn a developed board into a burst of mana, but the strongest lists also recover cards or create replacements so the engine does not simply consume itself.
Ichor Wellspring is an accessible example. It draws on entry and again when it goes from the battlefield to the graveyard, making its sacrifice produce mana and a card. Myr Retriever and Scrap Trawler can recover artifacts under their respective conditions, helping a sequence continue beyond the artifacts initially on the battlefield.
Treasure tokens are also valid sacrifices, and Ironworks produces two colorless mana from them rather than the one mana of any color supplied by a normal Treasure activation. The tradeoff is color: a large colorless pool still needs an appropriate outlet or another way to meet colored requirements.
The activation is a mana ability, so it does not use the stack. Death and graveyard triggers caused by the sacrifice still follow their normal rules and can create later response windows. A precise combo depends on which artifacts return, their mana values, and the costs of casting them again; merely controlling a recursion artifact and Ironworks does not guarantee an unlimited loop.
Plan the exit before sacrificing important pieces. Walking Ballista can use a large mana supply, while other builds convert repeated entries or deaths into damage or mill. Preserve enough resources to continue if a key recovery trigger is disrupted. Ironworks rewards careful sequencing and a dense artifact package more than a collection of expensive artifacts with no way to replace them after sacrifice.
