Horizon Canopy gives green-white decks an untapped source of either color with a useful late-game exit. Paying one life produces green or white mana. When the land is no longer essential, one mana plus tapping and sacrificing it draws a card, allowing the mana base itself to help find another threat or answer.
Creature decks that empty their hands can appreciate that flexibility. Early Canopy activations support development; later, cashing it in can replace a poor land draw with a fresh look at the deck. It works particularly well when the curve is low enough that losing one land will not prevent you from casting your important spells.
Ramunap Excavator and Crucible of Worlds let you play lands from the graveyard, giving Canopy repeat use. Life from the Loam can return it to hand in a suitable build. Each route still requires paying the draw cost and spending land plays, so decide whether the extra card is worth slowing another part of your turn. Its mana is not painless, and the land cannot simply tap for colorless to avoid the life payment. It also has no Forest or Plains subtype, which limits the fetch effects that can find it. Use Canopy when you value early color access and late card conversion, while keeping enough other mana sources to make sacrificing it a comfortable choice.
