Spellseeker gives blue decks access to an instant or sorcery with mana value two or less when it enters. The selected card goes to your hand, letting a three-mana creature find interaction, card selection, or a combo piece. Because the search is an entry ability, blink and creature-recursion effects can turn the same Spellseeker into several different tools over a longer game.
Counterspell provides a defensive option, while Dramatic Reversal can complete an Isochron Scepter setup. In a deck with black, Demonic Tutor or a one-mana reanimation spell can expand the available lines. The target package should match the deck's actual needs, with enough variety that the search remains useful when a planned combo is not the correct immediate play.
Ephemerate in a white-blue deck can reuse the entry trigger, and other blink effects offer similar value. The remaining small creature can block, carry Equipment, or serve as sacrifice material after the search. That body distinguishes Spellseeker from a tutor that leaves no permanent behind, especially in decks already designed to reuse creatures.
Remember to budget for casting the card you find. Spending three mana to search does not leave an answer available unless enough mana remains for it. Mana value also treats X as zero while a card is in the library, but a spell found that way may still require a substantial payment when you actually cast it.
