Card rulings 3
  1. You may either draw two cards or not draw at all. You can't choose to draw only one card.
  2. The ability triggers once for each card an opponent draws. You choose whether to draw two cards as each of those abilities resolves.
  3. If each player controls a Consecrated Sphinx, their abilities will cause each other to trigger until one player chooses not to draw cards.

Updated

Consecrated Sphinx gives blue decks a powerful draw engine that scales with opponents’ card flow. Whenever an opponent draws a card, you may draw two cards. In a multiplayer game, even the normal draw steps can produce several triggers before your next turn, making the Sphinx a major source of resources if it remains on the battlefield.

An opponent drawing seven cards from Wheel of Fortune creates seven opportunities to draw two, for as many as fourteen additional cards from that opponent’s draws alone. Other opponents’ draws can create their own triggers as well. This makes the Sphinx particularly effective at tables where wheels, cantrips, and repeatable draw engines are already common.

The cards drawn can supply interaction to defend the creature and enough material for a later finishing turn. Sheoldred, the Apocalypse can reward your draws with life gain in a blue-black deck, while a spell-heavy strategy can use the larger hand to chain together several plays. The flying body also provides a meaningful blocker rather than leaving the engine entirely separate from combat.

The draw is optional, which matters when your library is getting low or another effect punishes drawing. Six mana is also a substantial commitment, and the Sphinx does not draw a card simply by entering. Opponents may remove it before another draw occurs. Try to establish it when you can protect it or when an opposing draw effect is about to provide value, rather than assuming every full turn cycle will pass without a response.
