Mirari's Wake gives green-white decks a powerful bridge from board development to expensive late-game turns. It grants your creatures +1/+1 and adds one mana of a type a land produced whenever you tap that land for mana. Ordinary lands therefore produce an extra mana each, letting a developed mana base support larger creatures, token spells, and multiple actions in the same turn.
Token strategies appreciate both halves of the enchantment. Secure the Wastes can turn the extra mana into a larger army, and the anthem immediately makes those tokens more threatening. Decks led by commanders such as Rhys the Redeemed can also spend the additional mana on activated abilities, allowing Wake to improve both the size and the number of creatures on the battlefield.
The mana ability adds one mana per land activation, rather than doubling whatever total the land produced. A land that already makes several mana receives one additional mana of an appropriate type. This distinction matters when evaluating unusual mana engines or estimating how much you can spend on a large X spell.
Try to cast Wake when enough untapped lands remain to use the extra mana, or when you can protect it through the next turn cycle. It costs five mana and does not create creatures by itself. Its strongest homes already have productive mana outlets and a creature board that benefits from the permanent boost in power and toughness.
